current activities and future plans which are relevant to the scholarship
Application Form:
The Personal Statement is used by the Captainchetramheti Shortlisting Committees
to distinguish between candidates who have been highly ranked by departments on
academic grounds. It helps the Committees identify those candidates who, as well
as being academically outstanding, possess a capacity for leadership and commitment
to improving the lives of others. Be honest and open about the extent of your impact
when describing situations, projects, etc. Show that you have fully researched the
course you are applying for and clearly link it to your future plans.
Personal reference
Please give your assessment of the applicant's suitability for a Scholarship.
These are awarded on the following criteria:
intellectual ability, leadership capacity, a commitment to improving the lives of
others, and a good fit between the abilities and aspirations of the applicant and
what the University/School can offer in its program.
Personal reference
The Personal Reference is used in the same way as the Personal Statement .
Referees are also asked how they rate the applicant for the scholarship:
Exceptional, strong, not strong, weak. They may paste/type up to 4,000 characters
into the on-line reference or upload a separate letter.
You should definitely not ask friends or family, or someone who is unable to comment
on your suitability for Scholarship. You should ask someone of appropriate standing
who is able to answer the question with authority and who understands what type
of person is looking for and how competitive the Scholarship is. The important point
to remember is that the Personal Referee must understand what the Scholarship is
about and must be able to write authoritatively about your leadership potential
and commitment to improving the lives of others.
Selection Procedure
We uses three-stage selection process to ensure Scholars meet all of our criteria
to the highest degree.
1. University/School ranking
In order to ensure only the most academically outstanding candidates are considered,
the Organization asks academic departments in University/School to rank eligible
applicants on academic/special ability only. Those who are put forward by their
departments are considered the most outstanding applicants they have received that
year.
2. Shortlisting
Once the Organization has a list of all ranked candidates, these are divided into
broad subject areas and passed to our Shortlisting Committees. These Committees
look at the candidates' entire application pack (including the Personal Statement
and Personal Reference) and apply all four criteria in order to identify those who
will be invited for interview. Everyone who is shortlisted for interview will have
gone through an exceptionally competitive process and will show evidence of meeting
the four criteria.
3. Interview
All shortlisted candidates have a short interview to assess how they meet all four
criteria and Scholars are selected after interview.
Feedback
Please note that Organization is not able to provide feedback to applicants.
The interview
If you are shortlisted for interview you will have already gone through an incredibly
competitive process. The interview was much more enjoyable that applicant thought
it would be - it was an incredibly engaging two-way conversation with people interested

fit with the main criteria of scholarship program.
